With the subsequent 45 further digital editions.well, I think it's pretty hard faced to sell downloads of other people's tunes via a respected website and I'm surprised Juno are ok with it, unless he is doing it legitimately.I doubt it though. That said, whatever people say about bootlegs, at least if he made a small amount of money off these he can say he has actually made a product.

It's funny, but this series seems to be equally respected and reviled, there are a few online interviews with Danny Dan about how he feels he influenced DJs and producers to use the breaks he presented on these records and how difficult it could be in the later years to shift copies of them. The exception is volume 16, a double LP, which sported a turntable on the cover. When it came to volume ten I got a copy with the "record boxes" sleeve, it seems there weren't any pressed with the "gloved hand" artwork or can someone correct me ? From volume 11 onwards it seems they reverted to the "gloved hand" artwork to the final one (volume 17) in 2010 which has particularly poorly printed artwork. My copies of volumes six and seven definitely seem to be bootlegs (of bootlegs, obviously) as the vinyl is thinner and the artwork fuzzy.

My copy of volume 1 reads Dusty Finger Records on the spine and all volumes afterwards state Strictly Break Records. referencing Dusty Fingers Volume One (LP, Compilation, Unofficial Release) DF9071 Tracks A8 and B6 are 'break' excerpts, not full tracks. There seem to be a few anomalies in the pressings though and I can only vouch for the copies I own. I think I was mostly picking up first pressings because Fat City in Manchester was the regular place to buy them, but in later years there were obviously represses with the "record boxes" sleeve artwork as opposed to the original "gloved hand" artwork. Perhaps the biggest howler is on volume 16 where the Drukwerk track was clearly ripped off an LP at 45rpm by mistake. Dusty Fingers Vol 3 LP (Item 433296) Strictly Breaks, 19601979. A lot of the tracks don't specify on the sleeve that they are just break excerpts rather than the whole track, the spelling mistakes got worse and worse ("Friend And Enamys", "subjuct to federal prosecution" etc) and some of the mastering seems to be better quality on one side of the vinyl than the other. Dusty Groove is Chicagos Online Record Store - Jazz, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, R&B, Latin, Brazil. Most volumes have some good tracks but it was obvious after the first few that it was a case of diminishing returns. I bought all of the DF ones for fear of missing out, I think. REVERB button: Turns the reverb on/off, adding. Maybe I should have smelled a rat because I have some Strictly Breaks LPs and despite good artwork, the poor execution of the end product is a common theme. MASTER VOLUME slider: Controls the volume of the internal speakers, head- phone jacks, and line output jacks.

Volume 2 has adverts for Strictly Breaks LPs on the rear sleeve so it then became obvious the two series were connected. When this series first came out I wasn't certain they were bootlegs as they seemed professionally produced, what with publishing credits, copyright warnings and claims of No Noise master tape clean ups etc.
