Yet the battle started and both my ally and the enemy were bone idle. I had 72 men, ally had ~150 and enemy had 90 so we more than doubled their number so it should of been an easy win. Had a really weird bug happen last night, Me and an ally from The North went into battle against someone from The Iron Islands. No idea which house to join Currently mincing around just south of the North (at Riverrun is it?). Here, have to build up quite a force first and then you can get going. I have memories of meeting bands of 4 semi-naked useless bandits and pretty much steam roller-ing them. It is much more difficult to get that starting hump out the way.

Sat on 6k of silver (going to invest in an enterprise that should make 700 per week) so pay isn't a problem, and levelling up quite nicely. Now, seem to get into fights non stop (even when they don't outnumber me, they still get stuck in funnily enough) and these days wiping up all of them without any losses.

Looted kit replaces mine, money from that (and from sales of looted stuff) meant I could upgrade the men and afford the pay. Once you manage that, it goes a lot easier.

The archers then kept busy trying to fill me full of arrows while my men then pounded them. Came up against some riders, which they make short work of. I think I managed to be quite lucky, in that I recruited pikemen (starting level) rather than men-at-arms types. And when you're getting swarmed by enemies, parrying doesn't really work well. Right now I'm too slow to be able to parry and then hit back. Guessing it's onwards with more and more missions until I've got a stash of coin for various weapons, levelled up sufficiently via experience, and then can train some guys up better. indeed, apart from the street ambushes, yet to win a single fight Seeing as i've not found any bandits that are numbering less than 3x my men (and as said, all veterans) it is pretty damned hard to get anywhere at present. It appears to have fallen into the trap of "Challenging = make things way more expensive, make all enemies higher levels which makes things more difficult to attain". It seems a proper tedious slog at the present moment. These all appear to be well trained veterans for any group Vanilla game they'd be half naked guys running around in many bandit groups. and you're screwed.Īlso notice, there are no weak bandits that i've found. No idea why you 'stop' (supposed to be to do with the wind perhaps?), and then couple this with tiny crossing points whereby bandits suddenly start sailing from each end to board you. Nearly came a cropper as the ship sailing still sucks hugely. Now I am just running a couple of jobs for guild masters. Therefore, ready to be fighting without potentially losing This doesn't seem to do anything like that.

Used to be able to go and spend perhaps 20 ingame minutes training up a small cohort of men into an average level. Omph, I gave up on training troops - it was nothing like it used to be.
